The painted buntings are back for 2009

A la residencia de José  y Jan Guaty  en La Florida, han regresado los  painted buntings, bellos pajaritos  muy parecidos al Tody cubano.

Jose says:  They started coming last year about this time and left late May to returned three weeks ago. According to the Wildlife Agent we spoke to, they had released about 20 captured painted buntings last year in Hollywood, and as we can now see my back yard is their habitat to return for the winter. We have two males (the colorful one) and three females (the green one). They feed and play in the yard all day long.
